37 degrees is a lot of degrees. As soon as today’s stage started to turn away from the sea, we realised that very quickly. The landscape changed from very urban in Póvoa de Varzim to beachline to agricultural to rural. Fão and the town before it (along the Camino) are pretty although quiet villages with lots of Catholic attributes, like miniature shrines along the road, chapels and cemeteries that look grander than the land of the living.
We’re chilling in a youth hostel that is full of youth (even younger then ourselves) who are very fond of the swimming pool right outside our window (which we, thankfully, had for ourselves immediately after we checked in).
Clarinhas and other animals
After finishing it, I still had no idea what I just ate, so I had to look it up. Chilacayote sounds like a restricted substance but is actually a kind of squash.
Also, had fried octopus filet (tastes like chicken) with octopus rice (tastes like chicken rice). No, actually all was really good in Fão’s finest establishment, Restaurante Rita Fangueira.
Hard day tomorrow, so you know, good night!
