Decompressing in Porto

Well, at least not hitting the road at once was a wise decision. I’m writing this after I’ve already been in this oven for a day and a half and got used to having to consume liquid pretty much non-stop. Yesterday the hot air hit us like a ton of bricks. A normal person arrives at a southern airport and knows they only have to suffer the madness between the air-conditioned terminal and their hotel room next to the pool chair. For us the perspectives are much closer to being constantly fried by the sun under the backpack, so we briefly became slightly sad. Portugal is greeting us with a heatwave and the heat is, well, relentless.

Today we had friends to feed us and give us company and comfort, waiters to bring beer and Sangria and streets of Porto to wonder in, aimlessly. Still quite tired afterwards, but the outlook is a bit more optimistic.

It all starts tomorrow!

That way! (Actually, no)
